1月15日，无锡市协和双语国际学校小学部迎来了第三届Spelling Bee英语拼词大赛。经过海选比拼，32名小选手进入了最后的大奖角逐。
On January 15th the Wuxi United International School (WUIS) Primary School students participated in the third annual WUIS Spelling Bee Competition. From the completion of preliminary rounds 32 ps entered the final competition.
从海选到决赛，每一个孩子的积极参与和认真准备让老师们感到骄傲和欣慰。整个过程孩子们把扎实的英语语言基础展现得淋漓尽致，陌生的词汇孩子们也能根据发音规律寻找拼词方法，整个准备过程孩子们学习英语的热情已被点燃。
From the audition stages to the final competition each child’s active participation and careful preparation allowed teachers to feel satisfaction in both their progress and diligence. Teachers were proud of the students for expanding their understanding of the English language; teachers were proud of the students for attempting to spell challenging vocabulary words in the application of respective phonic decoding strategies. Moreover teachers were gratified at the passion displayed by the students within the process of learning the English language.
比赛共分为三个环节，选手们需要进前一个环节的考核，顺利通过才能进入下一个环节，否则将面临淘汰。
The competition was divided into three rounds. Each p had to complete one round to advance to the next round. If not they were eliminated.
在紧张而具有挑战性的气氛中两轮比赛结束啦。在享受精彩表演的同时，利用中场休息的时间全场的小朋友参与了有趣的互动环节“谁会拼单词”。
Within the tense and challenging atmosphere the students welcomed the end of the second round. With joy the audience enjoyed the half-time / interval performance. And all the students enjoyed the activity Who can spell the words?
看着小选手们面带微笑、自信满满地拼出评委给出的单词时，场下的拉拉队按捺不住心中的喜悦，都纷纷给予选手们阵阵喝彩和掌声。经过选手们激烈的个人较量，冠军最终诞生，他们分别是一年级的骆明泉、二年级的项博威和三年级的季子雍。
Participants presented their confident smiles as they were spelling words given by judges; this to the delight / applause of the audience. Through the participants’ fierce competition the champions were finally borne.They are VictorShane and Stanley.
我校举办这样一场比赛的目的就是让学生展现自我、用头脑和智慧追逐梦想并且参与到这场勇敢者的挑战中来。
The ive of the WUIS Spelling Bee Competition is to implement the concept: allow students opportunity to present themselves; to achieve goals within the pursuit of wisdom; and to be brave enough to participate in a challenge. Indeed the WUIS Spelling Bee Competition was a success.
